Nate Thrasher (57) came back from a disasterous start to the 250 West Supercross Championship to win in San Diego, but even with a win he is only 12th in 250 West points (30 points behind Jordon Smith).

Anaheim 2 is looking to be a little more technical this weekend. It has lots of twists and turns, and two short whoop sections, but best of all it has a much safer left-hand first turn. The original track map was different with a tunnel in the spot where the red circle is. Now, the tunnel has been removed.

• 2024 ANAHEIM 2 ANIMATED SUPERCROSS TRACK

• THE 2024-1/2 KTM FACTORY EDITIONS ARE COMING

The highlight features of the 2024-1/2 KTM 250SXF and 450SXF included reworked frame that optimizes the flex characteristics for improved cornering and comfort. Other handling alterations for both bikes include the CNC-milled orange anodized triple clamps and rubber damped triple clamps. The 250SXF Factory Edition weighs 226 pounds, while the 450SXF Factory Edition weighs 229 pounds.

2024-1/2 Factory Edition have an all-new Connectivity Unit offroad (CUO) with a GPS component on the redesigned front fender. Not only can you remap your KTM with your phone, but it has LitPro to allow riders to examine their lines, speed, gearing and lap times.

The engine is equipped with an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust that shaves weight and finesses the power, while the engine also has an updated air intake sleeve and snorkel; plus a white vented airbox cover (black on the 250) for the Twin Air filter.

The updated shock has new low-friction linkage seals to go along with the smaller and lighter linkage bolt (transferred directly from the RedBull Factory bikes).

The 2024-1/2 KTM SXF Factory Editions have a stiffer and stronger rear brake pedal to help put full power into the rear brake. Up front is a semi-floating, 260mm, Brembo front rotor protected by a carbon reinforced Factory disc guard. There is also a 4-bolt Factory skid plate, Hinson clutch cover, soft ODI gray grips, stronger DID wheelsets, gold chain, Dunlop Geomax MX34 tires and exclusive Red Bull KTM Factory Racing graphics with an orange Selle Dalla Valle seat.

The  powerful 450 and 250 engines are is lighter, more compact and are outfitted with a durable Hinson outer clutch cover. The 250SXF Factory Edition bore and stroke is 81mm x 48.5mm. The 450SXF Factory Editions bore and stroke is 95mm x 63.4mm. The new design radiator shrouds improve cooling and rider contact.

The Factory Edition will come with the New Dunlop Geomax MX34 tires to enhance traction, feel and absorption.

The updated WP XACT fork and shock settings are spec’ed to improve bike balance and control. KTM Factory wheels featuring DID DirtStar rims laced to fully CNC-machined orange anodized hubs.

Factory Power Parts triple clamps are anodized in orange and thanks to the split design, deliver perfect fork clamping for enhanced suspension performance and adjust between 20 or 22 mm offset.  There is also  Factory holeshot device in the fork guards, carbon composite skid plate, gray ODI lock-on grips, and orange rear aluminum sprocket.

After the muddy mess in San Francisco and San Diego, the 2024 AMA Supercross series is hoping that Anaheim 2 will be dry, warm and drama-free. So, if you don’t have tickets, kick back in your living room and watch the 2024 Anaheim 2 Supercross on Peacock. Don’t forget! It starts at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time)

Endless ruts are a common theme at the AMA 250/450 Nationals. This is the view from the mechanic’s area at Pala Raceway. Pala is the opening round of the 2024 outdoot series.

NBC Sports, Peacock, NBC, USA & CNBC  have announced the 2024 AMA Supercross Championship, AMA Outdoor National Championship and the SuperMotocross Playoffs (SMX) broadcast and streaming schedule. All 31 rounds across the series, including exclusive live coverage of qualifiers, heats, Main Events and Motos will be presented on Peacock, NBC, USA Network, CNBC, and NBC Sports digital platforms.

Peacock will provide comprehensive live coverage of all qualifying, heats, Main Events and Motos across both AMA Supercross and the AMA Nationals, spanning 31 rounds from January to September 2024. Plus, 17 races will livestream exclusively on Peacock. The platform will also provide on-demand replays of every race. Qualifiers and heats will be available exclusively on Peacock for every race throughout the season.

“Race Day Live” will cover all 31 rounds of the Supercross, National and SMX Playoffs exclusively on Peacock. Dan Hubbard and Justin Brayton will serve as hosts of the pre-race program, along with Steven “Lurch” Scott, Haley Shanley, and Zach Osborne as reporters.
