2019 PRO MOTOCROSS 450 RACE RESULTS AT THE SOUTHWICK NATIONAL

Marvin Musquin’s 1-2 moto scores earned him his second win in a row at Southwick.

In the second Moto, it was Cooper Webb who grabbed the holeshot, but Zach Osborne was able to get around him quickly to gain the lead for his first time in the 450 class. Ken Roczen was looking good early in the race, he passed all the way up to second, but then it looked like he was dealing with the same arm pump issues he had in the first Moto as Musquin, Webb and Tomac all passed him back. Cooper Webb made a small mistake in a corner that allowed Eli Tomac to make the pass into third and set his sights on Marvin Musquin. It looked like Eli would be able to catch the Frenchman, but that wasn’t the case. Marvin picked up the pace to hold on to the second spot and win the overall, while Eli settled for third place in the Moto and third overall on the day.

Zach Osborne grabbed his first Moto win in the 450 class and ended up second overall at Southwick.

450 MOTO 1 RESULTS

The Frenchman, Marvin Musquin wins 450 Moto 1 at Southwick.

Off the start in the first 450 Moto it was Marvin Musquin who grabbed the holeshot with Eli Tomac right next to him going down the first straightaway. At the beginning of the race Marvin was able to pull a small gap while Ken Roczen passed his championship rival Eli Tomac and Zach Osborne pressured Tomac for the podium spot. Freddie Noren, the JGR fill-in rider had a solid start as well, he was fifth before Cooper Webb passed him. Zach Osborne put on a charge and he managed to pass Eli Tomac and then pass Ken Roczen. Then it seemed like Ken Roczen was starting to get tired as Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb would both make moves to get around Roczen. Cooper Webb was applying pressure to Eli, but unfortunately for the KTM rider he would slide out and drop back two positions. Eli Tomac picked up the pace and got back around Osborne. Freddie Noren was able to pass Ken Roczen and get into fourth place and he held it for a few laps before Cooper Webb got back around him. Ken Roczen would drop all the way to twelfth by the end of the Moto.
