The 250 Class Shake-Up Continues

Metcalfe Splits With Mitch & MDK/KTM Lites Team Signs Wil Hahn

Just days after it was learned that three year Pro Circuit charger Brett Metcalfe has left the all-powerful Monster Pro-Circuit team for the Geico Honda team, now comes word that KTM has signed Wil Hahn who was on the loose end after the merging of Yamaha of Troy and Star Racing teams.
Here’s the official word from KTM:

The MDK/KTM Factory Lites Team is proud to announce Wil Hahn as the fifth and final rider for the 2009 MDK/KTM Factory Lites racing effort.

Hahn will join the MDK/KTM Lites Team as one of the two riders that will race the West Coast Supercross Series. Hahn, who hails from Decatur, TX, earned his first team ride after winning the Toyota sponsored program at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships. After a distinguished amateur career and a great rookie year last season, he is excited about joining the MDK/KTM Team. “I am pumped to sign with a factory team. I love the KTM bikes and am amazed at the power of the motors. I can’t wait for the season to start,” remarked Hahn.

“We were impressed with Wil’s riding all season long. He is a young, talented rider and I believe on the KTM bike we will see his results improve tremendously as we head into the 2009 racing season. I am confident that he will meet our expectations for the coming year,” commented MDK/KTM Factory Lites Team Manager Danny Paladino.

Hahn will be accompanied by his four KTM teammates: Justin Brayton, Martin Davalos, Ryan Sipes and Tommy Searle. Brayton and Hahn will race the West Coast Supercross Lites class while Sipes and Davalos will race the East Supercross Lites class. Searle will race the Motocross Lites class only.
