“THIS WEEK IN MXA WITH JOSH MOSIMAN:” ARE THE RIDERS DISGRUNTLED ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THE SEASON?

The stars of our sport have never been shy about expressing their opinions, but this was the first time we’ve seen the three biggest stars voice their displeasure at he same time. Jett Lawrence said, point blank, “I think that 31 rounds is too much. Obviously Feld will not be pleased about this turn of events. In the past the riders complained about the 12-round Supercross series, 15-round Supercross series and current 17-round Supercross series, but each time they complained about the length of the season the Supercross promoters tried to add more rounds. Currently the Supercross series sits at 20 rounds—counting the three SMX rounds. The only reason the riders are racing the SMX Playoffs is because of the big money—but they are caught between a rock and hard place. They have no real power because they work for massive corpoartion,  who are tied in the sanctioning body who is indebted to the Championship series promoters, who only make money by holding races—the more the better for them.
