TRANSPLANTED AMERICANS READY TO COME HOME TO THE USGP:

Billy Laninovich, Michael Leib and Zach Osborne all raced the Spanish Grand Prix this past weekend.

After Saturday’s qualifying races at the Spanish Grand Prix, American riders, Zach Osborne, Michael Lieb, Jimmy Albertson and Billy Laninovich shared their feelings about coming home to the USA in two weeks’ time to race the USGP at Glen Helen

ZACH OSBORNE

“Racing in the USA is going to be very proud moment for me. My level is coming better every weekend, today I was third in the qualifying race, so now I think I can be on the podium, I just have to keep pushing,” said Bike-it Cosworth Yamaha UK’s Zach Osborne.

MICHAEL LIEB

Rockstar Energy Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Michael Leib experienced what is riding in the FIM Motocross World Championship for the first time in Spain and said: “I was unfortunate on my first day here in Europe (to break a bone in his arm). I’m really impressed with everything, it’s definitely very professional. I live 25 miles away from Glen Helen. it’s been always my home GP, so I hope to be 100% there.”

BILLY LANINOVICH

After a year without racing, Aprilia Racing’s Billy Laninovich flew to Spain to join Josh Coppins on the Aprilia team: “I’m on a new bike and I’ve only ridden it twice, so I hope to be better in two months. It’s just been a week since I’m got to Europe, so it hasn’t been too bad, but it’s going to be good to race at home, where maybe I can do better.”

JIMMY ALBERTSON

Honda Racing MX’s Jimmy Albertson suffered an accident on the last lap of the 450 qualifying race in Bellpuig. At the moment his diagnosis is not clear, but he is coming to the USA to have a Cat Scans done on his left shoulder (which was dislocated in Spain). He might miss the Glen Helen USGP?so the best news would be seeing him back by the French GP.
