YAMAHA IN TALKS TO SELL ITS POWER PRODUCTS DIVISION TO EARTH POWER
Yamaha announced today that they have begun talks with Earth Power Products, headquartered in Tsushima, Japan, about a partial sale of Yamaha’s power products business (multi-purpose engines, generators and snow blowers) to Earth Power.
Besides the multi-purpose engine, generator, and snow blower businesses under consideration for this sale, Yamaha Motor Powered Products also includes the manufacture of kart engines, golf karts, industrial-use unmanned helicopters. Outside of its power products business, Yamaha Motor Powered Products is also developing a low-speed light vehicle business, and will continue to develop, manufacture, and sell golf carts, and Green Slow Mobility units (Green Green Slow Mobility focuses one electric vehicles with a capacity of at least four occupants which can travel on public roads at speeds of up to 20 km/h. Aiming at providing transport options uses by tourists for excursions and as a means of transportation for the elderly).
On April of this year, Yamaha Motor Powered Products will transfer its racing kart business, including sales of engines and parts to the Sugo Company.
Sugo Land has four internationally rated courses: a road course, triala course, kart course and a motocross track. They host rounds of the the All-Japan Road Race Championship, All Japan Motocross Championship and the Super GT Championship, series.
