As the 2016 International Six Day Enduro, previously known as the International Six Day Trial, came to an end, Team USA won the World Team Trophy for the first time in history. Taylor Robert, Kailub Russell, Thad Duvall and eleventh-hour replacement rider Layne Michael claimed America’s first-ever Trophy Team victory after over 50 years of trying. Sweden secured the Junior World Trophy (a prize that America had won before), while Australia claimed a fourth consecutive Women’s World Trophy. In another momentous moment,  America’s Fred Hoess won the first-ever FIM Vintage Trophy.

Taylor Robert said, “I’ve been so stressed the last few days, this is a huge deal for me and for the USA. I kept trying to tell myself that everything would work out, but I know anything can happen during the final motos. This is my sixth ISDE and it feels so good to have won with Team USA and also to have got the overall individual result. The team’s been great, we’ve been getting closer and closer to this year-on-year. This one’s for Kurt Caselli.”
