2021 FOX RACEWAY #2 NATIONAL MOTOCROSS VIDEO: “LA GROSSE DAME A CHANTÉ”

Star Yamaha ‘s Dylan Ferrandis entered Fox Raceway in control of his own destiny, with a chance to clinch the 450 Class title one round early. The Frenchman went 1-2 to get enough points to end Ken Roczen’s hopes of being the 2021 450 Champion. Roczen’s chances were slim because if Ferrandis beat him by one single point, Dylan would mathematically clinch the title before the final round at Hangtown next Saturday. Roczen’s went 3-6 and now must try to hold off a charging Eli Tomac at Hangtown to hold onto second overall in 450 points. Tomac won the 2021 Pala II National with a 2-1, to gain ground on Roczen’s second place points. Tomac is now 9 points behind Roczen and after two straight 450 National wins, after being shutout fort he first nine races, looks like the odds-on favorite to win Hangtown.

Ferrandis’ AMA Championship comes 30 years after Jean-Michel Bayle  became the first French rider to win an AMA crown. Dylan’s win was also the first AMA 450 Championship for Yamaha in over a decade (going back to Grant Langston’s 2007 title).

In the 250 Class, a late season surge, combined with a mental let-down by Justin Cooper, allowed Honda’s Jett Lawrence to dominate again. Jett went 1-1 for the moto sweep. This was his second victory at Pala Raceway this year—because Pala was the only track to have two Nationals in 2021. Jett Lawrence has a very solid 23-point lead in the championship standings with one round remaining.
