The 2020 Pro Motocross season is rapidly approaching as the Loretta Lynn Amateur Championship is finishing up in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on Saturday and the first ever 2020 Loretta Lynn Pro National next up just one week later on Saturday, August 15th. News about the upcoming Pro Motocross season has been all over the place as the series is trying to maneuver through the hoops that the government is placing before them and now the latest update is stating that only 5,000 fans will be allowed at the Loretta Lynn National. MX Sports is doing this to better comply with the social distancing rules that are in place and to protect the health of all attending the race and the health of the season in hopes to complete the entire schedule without anymore setbacks. They also announced that over half of the 5,000 tickets available for this round have been pre-ordered, so if you’re interested in watching Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and the rest of the Pros battle at Lorettas again, you better pre-order your tickets now.

As the first round of the now nine-race season gets closer, our expectations for the track at Loretta’s are becoming less confident. Originally everyone was skeptical about holding an AMA National on the very tight and technical track they have at the Loretta Lynn Dude Ranch and there were rumors going around that another track would be built somewhere else on the property. Now, we’re hearing that they will try to make the original track bigger and more challenging for the Pros. However, at this point we’re just glad to see some racing.

(August 7, 2020) – Just one week remains before the long and anticipated wait for the start of the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, comes to an end, allowing the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series to embark on its 49th season of competition. In the midst of one of the most challenging periods this country has ever faced, American Motocross continues to find a way to return to racing, with a different look and feel that will provide the most unique atmosphere in the history of the sport. The beginning of this “new normal” will feature a landmark moment for the championship, which will open the season with an inaugural visit to famed Loretta Lynn’s Ranch on Saturday, August 15, for the Circle K Loretta Lynn’s National.

Since 1982 this sprawling landscape and tourist attraction nestled in the quaint rural town of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, has served as some of the most hallowed ground in American Motocross. For four decades, the namesake home of the country music icon has hosted the single-largest motocross event on the planet – the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship – where a showcase of the sport’s future generations has fostered an unprecedented legacy. This proving ground has given rise to the career of virtually every motocross superstar, whether it’s “The G.O.A.T.” Ricky Carmichael and James “Bubba” Stewart, or current household names like Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen. Simply put, the legacy of Loretta Lynn’s Ranch is a who’s who of motocross history and now that legacy will deepen even further with the addition of the Pro Motocross Championship.

As the world continues to navigate its way through the coronavirus pandemic, MX Sports Pro Racing, organizers of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, will implement a cohesive health and safety plan at every event on the 2020 schedule, developed in conjunction with local government and health officials. These policies will place an emphasis on social distancing, and as a result, a limited quantity of tickets will be available for the Loretta Lynn’s National, with a capacity capped at 5,000 spectators.

“The well being of our fans, participants, and staff is paramount to hosting a successful 2020 season and a memorable debut at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch,” said Tim Cotter, MX Sports Pro Racing Event Director. “By limiting our ticket sales and establishing a maximum capacity for spectator attendance we will be able to get the most efficient use out of the available space, ensuring that fans can spread out, practice social distancing, and still enjoy the best professional motocross racing on the planet. We’re all going to be faced with adjusting to a new normal this season, and this framework will allow for our attending audience to cooperate more easily with the new policies being implemented.”

Tickets for the Circle K Loretta Lynn’s National, and select rounds of the 2020 season, are now on sale at ProMotocross.com. Available tickets to the opening round are going fast, with more than half of the 5,000 capacity already pre-sold. Interested buyers are urged to purchase their tickets online in advance before the event sells out.
