“RAW TWO-STROKE” VIDEO: MXA’S 44-HORSE WORLD TWO-STROKE KTM 150SX

Leading up to the 2021 World Two-Stroke Championship we had a stock KTM 150SX, but decided to take a Pro Circuit-tuned 150cc Powers Parts kit and put it on our stock KTM 125SX. That way MXA would have two test riders in the Pro class on KTM 150s. At the World Two-Stroke race, the legal displacement for the 125 classes is 150cc. With 800 entries for the one-day race, riders protesting each other for having 150cc kits became unenforceable, so it was decided to make 150cc the upper limit. In most of the amateur classes it worked out fine, because 125cc bikes often took the win over the 150s, but in the 125 Pro class the 150’s needed the added power for the long Glen Helen starts and the big hills. So, MXA built two 150SX’s—one hopped-up by Mitch Payton and the other one stock. The Pro Circuit 150SX made 6 horsepower more than a stock KTM 125SX and 3 horsepower more than our stock KTM 150SX.

This video was shot during pre-race testing while we were getting the suspension, jetting and set-up dialed in. We present it in RAW form—which means no music or voice-over, just the sound of a 44-horsepower KTM 150SX.
