ASK THE MXPERTS: WHAT ARE THE BEST TIPS FOR MY 2002 CR250 TWO-STROKE?

Dear MXA,
I have a 2002 CR250, and have some extra money to put into it. Should I invest into this bike (suspension revalve, ported cylinder) or look for an 2006-2007 CR250?

If you want to ride a Honda CR250 two-stroke you should stick with your 2002 CR250, but keep it in as pristine a condition as possible. It is a classic Honda and won’t benefit much from being hopped-up (because of its weird case-reed engine). But, if you want to upgrade, you are on the right track with the idea of buying the newest old CR250 possible?like a 2006-2007 CR250. On the other hand, you can actually get a very good bike by going with an older 2001 model. It has a much better engine design. Additionally, you could buy any used 2006 through 2010 Yamaha. It is almost like buying a 2011 bike.
