CHAD REED JOINS CLUBMX IN NEW CONSULTANT ROLE

CHESTERFIELD, SC – May 21, 2025: When you think of legends in the sport of Supercross and Motocross, Chad Reed’s name will always be near the top of the list. He has a long, successful career with many brands of bikes, but won enough on Yamaha to be their winningest rider of all time. His workman-like approach to racing reads like a motivational book on how to be successful in everything you do. Originating from Australia, Reed gambled on himself by moving to the US in 2002 and immediately started building his resume to look something like this:

Impressive to say the least, but that is the history of Chad Reed. What does the future hold?

Chad Reed: “I was invited to participate in a Yamaha BLU CRU camp at ClubMX in April this year with my family and thought it would be a good idea to check it out. I have heard a lot of buzz about the facility over the years and this opportunity came at the right time in our schedule. Yamaha has been like a big family to me in my career, so having a chance to give back a bit seemed like a good idea. Little did I know where it would lead.”

Everyone seems to have stories of Chad Reed from his racing career and even though he is still very competitive and outspoken, he has turned his attention to becoming the consummate family man. He and his wife Ellie have three wonderful children, Tate, Kiah and Pace– all with a high level of interest in moto. In their first short visit, they all had a chance to take in what ClubMX has to offer and enjoyed themselves immensely. After the brief visit, the family headed out to a Loretta Lynn’s area qualifier and made the decision to return to the facility in South Carolina, the consensus being “it felt like home”. When the motorhome was parked, the door flew open and Tate went to play pickleball, Kiah went to hang out with friends and Pace went fishing, leaving the elder Reed’s with plenty to think about.

That led to a conversation with facility owner Brandon Haas: “Chad asked me what it would look like if he stuck around and at first, I wasn’t sure what he meant. We threw a lot of ideas around on how to accommodate him and quickly realized that he seriously wanted to be here long-term with his family. Chad has a lot to offer to the sport and our ClubMX community specifically, so it was mutually in our best interest to make it work.”

Reed will simply start off on a consulting basis with the staff. His experience in racing, team ownership, track preparation, coaching, training, and so much more will be a substantial benefit to the ever-growing facility. He also interacts with the pro riders to give them real-life perspectives on the racing front. But his priority is and will remain being a great family man as they navigate their way through the amateur motocross scene.
