Eli Tomac steps up to race against the Europeans.

Eli Tomac has just confirmed he will race the two MXGP rounds in the states at Glen Helen and Charlotte Motor Speedway this September. Eli Tomac did not race the MXGP round at Glen Helen in 2015. At the time he was recovering from a shoulder injury sustained at the Thunder Valley round. Eli was still with Geico Honda when he got injured, but was already signed to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team for 2016, although the news was not officially announced. Last year, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider, Ryan Villopoto was scheduled to race the entire MXGP series. Unfortunately for Ryan, he injured his tailbone in a crash during the fourth round at Trentino, Pietramurata, Italy, and was unable to race the rest of the season. When the series came to the states, Kawasaki brought in Glen Helen local Josh Grant to challenge for the win on his home soil. He won the second moto and took second overall. We wish Eli the best to show the Europeans what America is made of.
