MXA is in Sweden for the official 2014 Husqvarna new bike launch, but until we come back with the complete scoop, here are some new photos of the white Huskys. You don’t need a degree in plasma physics to see that these are basically KTMs or Husabergs (which were KTMs) with new look plastic. Given the short time frame since KTM purchased Husqvarna to the need to produce 2014 models, this is a fairly extensive line of motorcycles. In 2015, Husqvarna’s R&D department will be able to differentiate the two brands more distinctly.

2014 Husqvarna TC85 does not get the polyamide subframe, but the 125 and 250 two-strokes do. the 240 can be turned into a 300 with a separate engine kit that will include the piston, rings, gaskets, power valves, cylinder head and black box.

The new Husky’s will not be made in Sweden, even though that is where MXA is headed for, nor will we be going to the old factory in Italy ? Nope! the 2014 Huskys will be made in the KTM factory at Mattighofen, Austria. Expected world-wide production is estimated at 15,000 units.

The molded polyamide subframe includes, not just the subframe parts, but many of the structural parts of the airbox.

The shock linkage, swingarm and shock are straight out of the KTM parts bin.

The 2014 Husqvarna’s have chromoly steel frames, polyamide nylon rear subframes, D.I.D. Dirt Star rims, electric start on the four-strokes, WP suspension and modified KTM engines. There will be both motocross and enduro versions.

The Husky four-strokes will be available in 250, 350 and 450 versions.

The motocross bikes will be available in 85cc, 125cc and 250cc two-strokes, plus 250cc, 350cc and 450cc four-strokes. The new line-up of Husqvarna models will give KTM dealers a new lease on life. The bikes are expected to be at European dealers in November and American dealers some time after that.
