THE IRON GIANT FALLS TO COVID-19: 2020 ERZBERG RODEO CANCELED

The Red Bull Erzbergrodeo has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled for June 11-14, the organizers have no plans to rescheduled the event in 2020, but will return to the week-long festival of Enduro in Eisenerz, Austria in 2021. Erzberg is the world’s premier off-road competition, attracting 1800 racers from 40 nations. Known as the Iron Giant because of its located in an enormous mining operation, the event hosts more than 35,000 spectators every year. The cancellation follows a recent decision made by the Austrian government banning mass-gathering events until July at the earliest (the event promoters said it was not possible to reschedule it in 2020).

Sadly, Ryan Sipes will have to wait another year before he can take another go at the Erzberg enduro.
