250 QUALIFYING RESULTS | FOX RACEWAY MOTOCROSS NATIONAL
The last round of the 2020 AMA Pro National Championship was held at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. Many people didn’t think a National in California was an option due to the strict Covid-19 restrictions set by the governor. However, the thing about Fox Raceway is that is it on an Indian Reservation. These reservations don’t fall under the same regulations as the rest of California making a perfect storm for a motocross National.
Coming into the final round it seemed that Dylan Ferrandis had this 250 National motocross title wrapped up. With an 18-point lead over 2-time 250 National champ, Jeremy Martin, Dylan just had to play this day smart. However, we knew Jeremy would be out for blood as he didn’t have a ride for the 2021 year as it looked like the Geico Honda team would be folding as they couldn’t lock down a sponsor for the coming year.

When the riders started to lay down their hot laps, the Troy Lee Designs rider of Brandon Hartranft was the first to break Cooper’s hot lap. Ferrandis took over the pole for a short time breaking into the 1:56 lap time, but Jett Lawrence and Justin Cooper outpaced him not soon after. Ferrandis struck back and broke into the 1:55 lap time which was faster than all the 450 riders as well.
