2022 SOUTHWICK NATIONAL MOTOCROSS RECAP: TOMAC SAYS, “WHO’S YOUR DADDY?”

Just think a couple weeks ago we thought that Team Honda (Roczen, Sexton and the Lawrence Bros) were going to dominate every race. That turned out to be only half true. Jett Lawrence lived up to his part of the deal, even if his Honda CRF250 let him down at Red Bud, but Eli Tomac has made a shambles of the red team’s early dominance by winning from the front and winning from the back. This may be Eli’s last AMA National season, as he moves on to what appears to be one last Supercross hurrah in 2023, but he’s on track to make the 2022 AMA 450 Nationals memorable. It looks like the 450 motocross series has boiled down to a two-man race—Tomac versus Sexton. They are separated by one point after Southwick.
