JORGE PRADO GETS WIN TAKEN AWAY, JEREMY SEEWER AWARDED THE 450 GP OF MANTOVA #1 WIN (UPDATED)

UPDATE: After the 450 races were over, Jorge Prado, Gautier Paulin and Romain Febvre were penalized for ignoring a waving yellow flag which changed their final podium positions. This changed the Grand Prix results and the World Motocross Championship points standings. The results before the penalties were assessed are in red, the results after the penalties are in black)

Gautier Paulin was moved from 7th to 9th  for the race and docked 3 points in the standings.

Glenn Coldenhoff ended up second when the smoke had cleared.

Jorge Prado won the second Grand Prix of his short nine race 450 career in Mantova, but only for a short time. He was penalized for ignoring the yellow flag and moved back to third overall.

Both Tony Cairoli and Tim Gajser had bad motos, but Cairoli’s second moto 15th was bad enough to hand the red plate to Gajser.

Tim Gajser, the current 450 World Champion, has finally return to the head of the leaderboard.

MEDICAL UPDATE ON ARMINAS JASIKONIS

Arminas Jasikonis was injured in Mantova.

Husqvarna’s Arminas Jasikonis suffered a bad crash in the second 450 moto and was transported to a hospital in Cremona, Italy. He was diagnosed as having a traumatic brain injury and, as is routine procedure with injuries of this type, placed in a medically induced coma in order to stabilize his situation. Husqvarna team manager Antti Pyrhonen said, “This is a very serious situation for Arminas. This is the situation is very serious and difficult for everyone, and now we have to wait and stay positive. He has the best medical care around him, and we are in close contact with both the specialists at the hospital here in Italy but also in Innsbruck, Austria.”
