RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX REPLACED BY MAGGORIA, PLUS A SURPRISE GP

The 2022 World Motocross Championship dates have been juggled the 2022 MXGP race schedule. Here are the changes:

(1) The Russian GP, which was schedule for May 1, was dropped after Russia invaded the Ukraine. It it will be replaced by a third Italian Grand Prix, with Maggiora added to the calendar on May 8.

(2) The to-be-announced (TBA) venue on September 18, will be moved to September 10 and the race will be held in Mussanah, Oman. This will be the first ever GP in Oman. The sultanate of Oman is located next to the Arabian Sea, just south of the Straits of Hormuz. It border the United Arab Emirates to the north west, Saudi Arabia to the West and Yemen to the south west. The average daily temperature in in Oman in September is 97 degrees Fahreheit (36 Centigrade).
