The MXGP of the Americas at Charlotte Motor Speedway kicks off this evening. It’s still unclear who will take top honors, but let’s put aside the racing for a minute and take a look at the works bikes of the MXGP stars. The AMA has long institute a production rule, but it’s anything goes on the Grand Prix circuit. That’s why Clement Desalle’s factory Kawasaki SR450 has a carbon fiber subframe, while Eli Tomac’s Monster Energy SR450 uses a standard aluminum subframe. That’s just one of the many differences between MXGP bikes and AMA riders. Take a look at the photo gallery below and see if you can discern the cool factory parts that superstars like Tony Cairoli, Evgeny Bobyrshev, Kevin Strijbos and more are using.
