WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with the Antigravity Batteries Micro-Start XP-5.

(1) Capabilities. The Micro-Start XP-5 is one of the world’s smallest jump-starters and personal power supplies. About the size of a smartphone, it packs enough power to jump-start your motorcycle, car or truck. Thanks to a built-in USB port, the XP-5 can charge cell phones, iPads, Kindles, GPS’, Bluetooth devices, digital cameras and anything else that uses a USB 5-volt charging system. It also has a built-in flashlight with SOS patterns.

(2) Specs. This XP-5 device weighs under 8 ounces and is only 5 inches tall, 2-7/8 inches wide and a 1/2-inch thick. There are two on-board power ports: a jump-start port with a 150-amp, 300-peak starting ability and a USB 5-volt, 2.1-amp output. There is also a built-in capacity indicator. Just press the button on the side to see how much life is left in the XP-5. The power turns off automatically when the battery is done being used.

(3) Accessories. The XP-5 comes with a bundle of extra goodies. First on the list is the wall charger. Next are the mini jumper cables and cigarette lighter adapter to charge the XP-5 on the go. Then there is the universal USB cable that splits into four plugs for the most common types of USB connectors.

(4) Performance. The XP-5 works better than we could have imagined. We used it to jump-start a dead KTM battery. We charged our cell phones out in the wilderness. We knew that as long as the XP-5 was charged, we would never be at a photo shoot with a dead camera, phone or bike. We even dropped it a few times without leaving a scratch. This is one very handy device.
