BAD NEWS: GAS GAS IS IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE

Gas Gas makes very popular two-stroke enduro and trials bikes in Spain.

Sadly, Ossa will go down with the ship unless Gas Gas finds a buyer.

According to motorcyclenews.com, Spanish motorcycle brand Gas Gas has filed for bankruptcy protection. The Spanish company had a $33 million debt, but when a last-minute deal with the shareholders reportedly fell through, bankruptcy was the only solution. In the worst case scenario a court-appointed trustee will be named by the government to sell the company for the highest price possible. Gas Gas had halted production back in February in hopes of saving the company. Sadly, Ossa will also be put up for sale, as the two Spanish companies had merged in January of 2014.
