KTM North America’s first-look at the 2018 lineup for its class-leading SX range, which includes a brand new KTM 85SX machine for junior riders. As far as the big bikes, not much has changed from the 2017 Factory Editions. Word is, the 2019 KTM will be an all-new bike. The 2018 KTM 250SXF, KTM 350SXF and KTM 450SXF are just a revised 2017 model. Which isn’t a bad thing as the 2017 KTM 250SXF and KTM 450SXF won MXA’s 250 and 450 shootouts.

2018 KTM 85SX HIGHLIGHTS

2018 KTM 85SXThe 2018 KTM 85SX is just about all-new from the ground up.

  • NEW engine that is 0.69 kg lighter than the previous model.
  • Improved power and rideability throughout the complete RPM range.
  • Lighter chassis with a revised chro-moly steel frame as crafted by WP Performance Systems, as well as a lighter subframe.
  • WP AER 43 forks and a specifically-developed WP Xplor progressive damping system (PDS) shock absorber, which provides excellent sensitivity and outstanding bottoming resistance with full adjustability.

2018 KTM 250SXF

2018 KTM 250SXFWe were impressed with the suspension revisions that were made to the 2017 KTM 250SXF Factory Edition. Hopefully they took those settings as their guideline and made small refinements to them.

In addition, the complete model year 2018 SX range, including both two-stroke and four-stroke machines, features revised suspension settings in the WP AER 48 forks, along with a factory-looking orange frame and brand new graphics to finish the look.

Model year 2018 KTM SX models will be arriving in dealers from May onwards. For detailed pricing information and availability, please contact your local KTM subsidiary or importer.
