MXA VIDEO: TESTING 14-YEAR-OLD PRODIGY HAIDEN DEEGAN’S EXOTIC KTM 112 SUPERMINI

Haiden Deegan, son of action sports star and founder of the Metal Mulisha Brian Deegan, is touted by many to be the next big thing in Supercross just a few years down the road. At only 14-years-old, Haiden already has more time on a Supercross track than many top amateurs who are aspiring to turn Pro and he still has multiple years of eligibility left in the Supermini class. For our latest MXA test video, we drove out to the Deegan Compound which is tucked away back in the wine country of Temecula, California, to test Haiden “Danger boy” Deegan’s Twisted Development built KTM 112 Supermini.

Many people in the motocross industry don’t like to talk about it, but the importance of social media and branding yourself as a racer is becoming more and more important every year and the Deegan family is certainly leading the way in that category. With Haiden Deegan (or Dangerboy as they like to call him) having over 700,000 Instagram followers watching everything he does, one sponsor logo, t-shirt worn or product mentioned on his profile gets much more publicity than it does on most Pro riders Instagram accounts. For this reason, sponsors are willing to pay big bucks to the 14-year-old prodigy who is still on minibikes rather than pay an established Supercross rider that doesn’t have a personality on social media. Basically, the Deegan family has figured out how to gain support and access to all the tools Haiden needs to reach success years down the road in Supercross.

BRIAN DEEGAN Brian Deegan is always making sure to document what their family is up to and because of that, sponsors are knocking at the door to get their brand on the Deegan’s social media posts.
