After the World Vet Motocross Championship, REM Motocross took a week off to let its riders lick their wounds and/or celebrate. REM came back this past weekend to run a super efficient program that gave everyone long motos, a tough track and a program that got them on their way home by 2:00 p.m. It was 85-degrees at Glen Helen on race day, but no one seemed to complain (since there is weatherman talk of rain next Wednesday and Thursday—which could mean perfect track conditions for next Saturday’s race).
Before looking at this week’s photo gallery by Jon Ortner and Debbi Tamietti, you should know that Debbi has a new photo gallery web page where she is beginning to store all of her race photos. Debbi has always sent photos from the races she shoots to any rider who asks her for photos of them racing. And, she has done it for free. But, it has become a very time consuming task, so she decided to put all the photos she shoots up on her new website at debbitamietti.smugmug.com.
She has posted all the photos she shot at the World Vet Motocross Championship on Sunday November 3, and at the last couple REM races. If you were at any of those races, go to the galleries and find any photo that you want. Debbi Isn’t trying to make money from her website, because she has always given her photos away for free, but if you download a photo from her site the digital photo will cost $1—yes, you read that right—one dollar. And she has options where you can order bigger prints and products.

Stilez Robertson (325) was on a different plane at REM on his new Husqvarna ride. His 1-1 win was impressive in the 450 Pro class because he was on an FC250 Husky. Photo: Debbi Tamietti

This right-hand uphill turn was tricky to manage. R. J. Wageman (621) made it less tricky, by attacking it with a vengeance. Wagemen went 2-2 in the 450 Pro class. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Shaun Hillion (413) auditions for the American Flat Track series on his Pasha-sponsored CRF450. Shaun went 5-4 in the 450 Pro class. Photo: Jon Ortner

If you want to know anything about 1969, don’t ask these guys, they were newborns in ’69…but that makes them eligible for the Over-50 class in 2019. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Joe Sutter has a brand-new bike. How do we know? Because no one runs electrical tape numbers on an old bike. Joe took his new bike to third in the Over-50 Experts. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Patrick Flynn (23) works at Kawasaki, which is the brand he raced to a 2-2 day in the Over-65 Expert class. Photo: Debbi Tamietti

If you go back to the 1980s, you’d recognize the names Will Harper (7) and Val Tamietti. (31) Will was an Indian Dunes guy and Val was a Saddleback specialist. Photo: Jon Ortner
Dave Eropkin (811), another SoCal Pro from ancient history, couldn’t hold off a revitalized Will Harper for the Over-60 Expert win. Photo: Jon Ortner
Normally Marc Crosby uses an elevator to get this high, but with new jump faces this weekend he felt compelled to use them to the fullest. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Gene Boere (62) keeps the power on as he climbs this hill at Glen Helen. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
The actual line for this corner starts where number 23 is, but Mike Monaghan doesn’t like to be confined by convention, so he went around the outside, left the track for a few feet then launched down the hill. Photo: Jon Ortner
Jim Hanson (83) and Joe Pena (911) traded 8-9 and 9-8 scores in the Over-60 Experts. Pena got 8th overall, and Hanson 9th. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Todd Wiseman (918) used a 2-1 to defeat Lance Sloane’s 1-3 in the Over-50 Novices. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
Mark Taylor (126) is a dedicated Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke racer. He took his well-used YZ to the win in the Vet Novice class. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
