WATCH THE GERMAN GRAND PRIX: HERLINGS MAKES A BIG MISTAKE & PRADO TAKES OVER

GasGas rider Jorge Prado swept both motos of the German 450 Grand Prix, aided in no small measure by Jeff Herlings’ brutal crash in the first moto. Although Herlings remounted to finish the first moto at a reduced pace (for one Grand Prix point), he could not start the second moto (and it has already been announced that he will not be at the next GP in Indonesia in two weeks). Jorge Prado is a two-time 250 World Champion and his 1-1 day in Germany gave him a 67-point lead over Herlings.

In the 250 class, Liam Everts became the third generation of Everts to win a Grand Prix. His grandfather Harry Everts, was both a 125 and 250 World Champion and his father Stefan Everts, was a ten-time World Champion. Andrea Adamo finished second overall with a 3-2 and took over the 250 World Championship points lead.

Jorge Prado and the jubilant GasGas factory team celebrate winning German 450 Grand Prix and keeping the Red Plate.
