CHAD REED SETTLES HIS PRIVATE TRACK BATTLE WITH PASCO COUNTY
According to the Tampa Tribune: Two years after Pasco County sued Chad Reed — after he thwarted their attempt to revoke his conditional use permit by transferring ownership of the property to a trust for his two children. The country won a court injunction in 2013 that forced Reed to stop racing dirt bikes and go-karts on the compound, with the exception of a 4-acre track that was approved and permitted in 2004. Reed vowed to appeal, but instead went to mediation to settle the case.
The settlement requires Reed to monitor all of the racing activity with time-stamp video and to keep the records for at least a month. “So if we get a complaint, we can investigate,” said the county authorities. “That would enable us to determine if the number of riders was accurate, if the hours were appropriate. One of the issues we had was that we’d get complaints, but by the time we got out there we couldn’t observe it.”
SUPERCROSS AT A GLANCE: 4 WINNERS IN 6 RACES
Trey Canard won in Oakland convincingly, but is tied with his Honda teammate Eli Tomac for third in points.

USED, ABUSED IT, TESTED IT: ARC FORGED MEMLON ALUMINUM LEVERS
ARC levers have been used by Ryan Villopoto, Eli Tomac, Jake Weimer, Wil Hahn, Blake Baggett and Adam Cianciarulo. ARC has risen to fame for its composite, unbreakable, folding Memlon levers, but for riders who don’t want nylon-style levers (which includes Blake Baggett), they have redesigned their forged aluminum levers to mimic the Memlon shape.
VERDICT: Factory teams will not run a product unless they have 100% faith in it and ARC levers are on more factory bikes than any other lever. One of the coolest parts is the reach adjuster which is simple and effective. A thumb screw, with a crosshatch head, locks into a ridge on the lever to adjust the position of the lever. Very inventive. The aluminum levers feel just like the composite levers. For MXA’s tastes the composite levers have the advantage of being unbreakable.
This a close-up of the simple reach adjuster.
DIGITS: $64.95 (forged aluminum), $69.95 (Memlon composite) — www.arclevers.com or (714) 543-0362.
