ASK THE MXPERTS: WHAT IS CHRISTOPHE POURCEL GOING TO DO?

Dear MXA, What is Christophe Pourcel going to do now? Did he ask for too much money? Does he have a secret deal in the works? Will Pro Circuit build him a KX450F? Will he race the GPs? In truth, nobody really know what is going through Christophe’s mind and it would be wrong to try and act like we are mind readers. On the other hand, we do know some things: 1. Christophe was sure that Team Kawasaki was going to hire him for their 450 team, but Kawasaki never made him an offer. And according to Kawasaki,…

WE RIDE THE TEAM CRUNCHIES’ HONDA CRF450 MOTOCROSS BIKE:

Crunchies Food Company offers a wide assortment of dried fruit and vegetable snacks. What makes them crunchy is their drying process?which takes place in a refrigerated vacuum. Supposedly, this allows the fruit to retain more natural flavor and nutrients, so Crunchies can avoid the use of sugar, preservatives or chemicals. One of the owners of Freeze-Dried Crunchies Natural Snacks is a motocross fan. Through the luck of an enterprising AMA National Motocross privateer, MXA test rider Dennis Stapleton an…

PALA MOTOCROSS NATIONAL RESULTS AND AMA SERIES CONCLUSION:

The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship came to an exciting conclusion on Saturday, returning to San Diego County for the first time in 28 years with the inaugural Pala Motocross National from Pala Raceway. After a dominant second half of the season, Geico Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard secured his first career motocross championship in the 250 class with a third-place finish on the day. In the premier 450 class, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey etched his name in the record books with hi…

ASK THE MXPERTS: HOW FAST ARE THE WOMEN AT THE AMA NATIONALS?

Dear MXA, I saw on a chat room today that the women, most notably Jessica Patterson, were only 5 seconds off the men’s time at Southwick.  I have seen the women race at the Nationals and there is no way they are even close to the men’s time. What’s the truth? Southwick is not a good place to make comparisons from timed qualifying…as Andrew Short found out. The first practice sessions are on a smooth track and the later session are on a rough track. The lap times drop off to the tune of 15 seconds…

L&M PRESS RELEASE SAYS THAT JAMES STEWART IS OUT OF THE AMA MOTOCROSS NATIONALS; NO SOUTHWICK

Press release: After more than a week of training and testing since the Motocross Outdoor National race at Unadilla, a difficult decision was reached today by James Stewart and Team to withdraw from the remainder of the Outdoor National race series. Due to his abbreviated Supercross season, Stewart, with the full support of his Team , had hoped to return to the track much earlier in the Outdoor National Series. But a slow healing injury kept Stewart out of the series until recently, when he received med…

CHAD REED PULLS OUT OF AMA 450 MOTOCROSS NATIONALS:

To My Fans and Supporters: I have spent most of the last month in and out of my doctor’s office getting tests done, trying to figure out what is going on. Each weekend I head to the race excited to get out there and get some wins on my Monster Energy Kawasaki, ready to defend the number 1 plate that is on my bike, knowing that I have worked hard during the week, on and off the bike. The team and bike are prepped and ready on race day and then I?m unable to race like I normally can. Where is that fight t…
